| | Appraisals | Promoting company health means making the perceived chances of success and the perceived level of sense in tackling work challenges on the part of the staff have to be made a central issue for the manner in which work is organised. This issue - on both team level and also 1-1 with each individual employee - has to be the responsibility of the management. In companies, however, we have noticed over and again that management often discusses this topic with those staff members who are creating problems for them (high levels of absenteeism, poor performance, bad timekeeping etc.), but that they have the same dialogue far less frequently with staff members performing well or at least behaving inconspicuously. By setting up a dialogue mechanism and learning the conversational competences required the management is then in a position to benefit from having the same dialogue with all staff members. In practical dialogue exercises focussing on feedback, welfare and criticism participants learn to manage such appraisals professionally thus promoting the health, motivation and performance of staff members in their individual areas of responsibility.
| | Healthy Management | Seminar participants are acquainted with the "Healthy Management" model which describes management behaviour on five different levels:
- Management as an organisational development
- Management as the management of a coherent company and communication culture
- Management as self-management
- Management as personnel management based on new models of motivation and
- Management as the art of managing a conversation (feedback, welfare and criticism).
In exercises and in dealing with concrete management situations these levels of management are trained and practiced and their significance for the development of health, motivation and performance for staff is taught along with techniques and methods for healthy management.
| | Company Health Management | In the widest possible sense health, motivation and performance are for a wide range of reasons a subject of discussion in many companies. "Company Health Management" is in general the need to make the health of all staff members a systematically managed process of continual improvement. One could however imagine a whole variety of company strategies if one hears the term Company health management the objectives and requirements of which vary tremendously. In this way the practice of company health management can range from company sport programmes right through to implementing a company strategy in which the health of staff members becomes the focus of a continual dialogue and a fundamental aspect of the organisational form of work itself.
